The Getaway Monday image this week takes us back to San Diego on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago. On that morning I drove to Coronado and took some images after battling the temptation to sleep in that morning with the sound of heavy rain heard against the window as my alarm went off before sunrise. After debating for a while, I decided to grab the rain jacket and head on out to photograph. Battling waves of heavy rain which would last a few minutes I took some pictures of the San Diego skyline. One thing I noticed at the Coronado Ferry Landing was how the skyline reflected on a restaurant where workers were inside cleaning and getting ready for Thanksgiving customers mixing the location as well as the holiday for the image.
A picture tells a story. With so many ways to tell a story, a picture not only communicates the vision I see but allows viewers to interpret the story in their own way.
The enjoyment of communicating stories through images has been with me since I was young, and it has grown over the years. Working as a software implementation consultant and now photographer my business and artistic knowledge allows me to look at projects from a a center point. This balance lets me refine my photographic vision and tell the necessary story which will make your next project exciting and successful.
