The Getaway Monday image this week is from Auke Recreation, which is about 15 miles north of Juneau. On a rainy evening I headed to the beach on the shoreline which is part of the Tongass National Forest. As I stood along the beach the rain was coming and going which also brought the cloud deck low at times. This small island just off the coast was coming and going in the rain and clouds. Working with a longer shutter exposure to soften the water motion I focused on the island while protecting the lens from some of the rain which was falling.
A picture tells a story. With so many ways to tell a story, a picture not only communicates the vision I see but allows viewers to interpret the story in their own way.
The enjoyment of communicating stories through images has been with me since I was young, and it has grown over the years. Working as a software implementation consultant and now photographer my business and artistic knowledge allows me to look at projects from a a center point. This balance lets me refine my photographic vision and tell the necessary story which will make your next project exciting and successful.
