The Getaway Monday image this week brings us to Skagway, Alaska. As I was headed out on a short afternoon hike I walked past some fuel tanks and noticed the afternoon light casting a shadow on one of them. Quickly grabbing my camera, I grabbed some images of the lines and patterns of the shadows knowing that upon my return the sun would be behind the nearby ridge. The challenge on this was trying to stay still with the wind howling at that time of time which is quite common in Skagway.
A picture tells a story. With so many ways to tell a story, a picture not only communicates the vision I see but allows viewers to interpret the story in their own way.
The enjoyment of communicating stories through images has been with me since I was young, and it has grown over the years. Working as a software implementation consultant and now photographer my business and artistic knowledge allows me to look at projects from a a center point. This balance lets me refine my photographic vision and tell the necessary story which will make your next project exciting and successful.
