Being in another capitol city on Day 10 of Thirty Days it made sense to take an image at the Capitol Building as I did yesterday in Colorado. However instead of looking at the view from the steps, I turned the camera towards the building itself. Alaska is one of ten states which does not have a dome on the building itself. The building opened in 1931 as the Federal and Territorial Building and when Alaska became the 49th state in 1959 it became the State Capitol. Attempts have been made to move the capitol from Juneau, and one passed however the funding to do so was not approved.
