The Oslo Opera House roof has a unique element to the building where it is designed to be walked upon by visitors. The design of the opera house, which opened in 2008, was to bring the building together with the waterfront of the Oslo Fjord which is adjacent to the building. The sloped roof allows visitors to walk to the roof and enjoy view of the waterfront as well as the city of Oslo, in essence providing another public space or plaza in the city.
While I walked up the building a few times during my visit to Oslo, from inside the building the Oslo Opera House roof becomes an interesting element as you look out the large windows and see visitors walk past as they make their way to the top of the Opera House.
