Thirty Days – Day 20

November 20, 2007 By Neil

After a long day of shooting I turned to walk back to the car and noticed the potential for this image. Playing with the angle of the hill with the boulders on the concern here was to get all of them under the ridge of the mountain in the distance. Unfortunately the sunset itself was obscured by some clouds which did not move far enough south during the day.

Thirty Days – Salton Sea Hotel

November 19, 2007 By Neil

Exploring the eastern coast of the Salton Sea, I ended the day on the North Shore. Fortunately there were not any rooms available at this hotel, so I had to keep on moving north for the evening. The main theme of today was what used to be, as there were many opportunities to photograph items which use to be used at housing, motels or even a yacht club.

Thirty Days – Salton Sea Sunset

November 18, 2007 By Neil

Arriving in the evening at the Salton Sea, I found these three trees off a dirt road. As the area is a National Wildlife Refuge with limited access I was limited to the angle I could use to photograph the trees. With the mosquitoes biting in mid-November I tried to find to find the best placement for the sun in respect to the trees from along the road.

Thirty Days – Day 17

November 17, 2007 By Neil

It’s interesting what can happen to an image if the white balance is off a little bit. The following is taken in Southern California and the red glow is a bit ominous since this background is near an open space canyon. However it was only the light of the city reflecting off the marine layer which moved in a little this evening.

Thirty Days – Day 16

November 16, 2007 By Neil

How many times have you walked into a room where it has only been illuminated by a digital clock. As I was thinking of an image this evening I encountered this and something made me take the photograph of the LCD display with nothing else. So with a little over an hour left in Day 16 I had the following photograph.
